This is a beautiful Orange and Green Zincite Crystal artfully wrapped in a tension forged sterling silver wire wrap. This is a wonderful stone that has a truly unique creation and is a vibrant orange and green color combination. It has a sparkling multi-crystal shape that will be perfect with any outfit. The dramatic color is highlighted by the swirling waves of sterling silver which securely grasp the stone and really make it pop.
Scientifically, the naturally occurring conditions necessary to grow these crystals are found inside of zinc smelters, so it is a fusion of natural and man-made conditions. They formed by accident inside the large smokestacks of the smelting factories in Poland and now that the smelting processes have been altered, they are no longer being created. This makes zincite doubly valuable as it is both beautiful and rare.

My wire work is all done by me in a tension forging technique using a hammer and anvil. I have been using this technique for almost 17 years with great results. I call it tension forging because all that holds the piece securely in the wrap is the tension of the wire. It is a single piece of wire and there is no glue or solder added making it exceedingly organic while still remaining very secure.
