Up for sale is a beautiful Malachite Cabochon artfully wrapped in a sterling silver tension forged wire wrap. This is a lovely stone that has been polished to a high sheen. It has gorgeous dramatic swirls and circles of varying shades of green in the typical malachite fashion. The vibrant colors are highlighted by the swirling waves of sterling silver which securely grasp the stone and really make it pop.
Metaphysically, malachite is known as the "stone of transformation" and is very useful to people currently involved in changing situations. It also aids people in taking responsibility for their actions. Finally, it represents fidelity in love and friendship and loyalty in partnerships and business transactions.
My wire work is all done by me in a tension forging technique using a hammer and anvil. I have been using this technique for almost 17 years with great results. I call it tension forging because all that holds the piece securely in the wrap is the tension of the wire. It is a single piece of wire and there is no glue or solder added making it exceedingly organic while still remaining very secure.
