Up for sale is a beautiful Azurite & Malachite Cabochon artfully wrapped in a sterling silver tension forged wire wrap. This is a lovely stone that has been polished to a high sheen. It has gorgeous dramatic swirls and circles of varying shades of green and vibrant blue with the geode-like opening creating a great peek-a-boo look to the back of the wire wrap. The vibrant colors are highlighted by the swirling waves of sterling silver which securely grasp the stone and really make it pop.
Metaphysically, azurite & malachite is a great fusion formed by two powerful gemstones that aid in self-discovery and self-awareness. This stone is also associated with wealth and abundance.
My wire work is all done by me in a tension forging technique using a hammer and anvil. I have been using this technique for almost 20 years with great results. I call it tension forging because all that holds the piece securely in the wrap is the tension of the wire. It is a single piece of wire and there is no glue or solder added making it exceedingly organic while still remaining very secure.
